No
website is an island, it seems. Launching Canny Nanny was a
long hard slog that couldn't have happened without cohorts.
So we'd like to take a few minutes to acknowledge the earthlings
who helped bring our beloved creation into the world.
The list is alphabetical as everyone helped in important ways,
for which we're extremely grateful . . . .
Calibre
https://calibre-ebook.com
Thanks to everybody who contributed to this open source software.
Easy
Print
https://easyprint.com/uk
Thank you for the free start-up business cards that allow us to
present a professional exterior while retaining our childlike
interior.
Home
and Business Computing Ltd.
Many thanks to 'Nick The Geek', a genuine, generous (to a fault
- usually us) gentle man and certified genius owns and operates
Home and Business Computing Ltd.
And Anna, his warm, witty, wonderfully vibrant wife who used to
wrangle Teresa's (their late sister's) Pet Necessities pet shop
(sadly shop has closed)
They
have over the years helped Canny Nanny with cats, dogs, and computers
too many times to mention.
k2pdfopt
https://www.willus.com/k2pdfopt/
Although we didn't end up using this software, through it we figured
out how to make an html template for Calibre so our formatting
remained a thing of beauty.
Sendy
https://sendy.co
Although we are not currently doing email signup, we want to give
a shout out to Ben at Sendy. You are as amazing, awesome, helpful,
kind, and cool a dude as they come. Your patience with us non-techies
seems to know no bounds (not that we're trying to test it - honestly!).
If that wasn't enough of an incentive to do business with you,
you also sell a fantastic piece of software that enabled us to
communicate with our Canny Fans via email using Amazon SES. We
couldn't have done it without you - seriously!
And
Canny Nanny fans, please let us know if you would like us to continue
to provide an email signup so you can be informed of new Canny
Nanny books.
Vibralogix
https://www.vibralogix.com
Adrian at Vibralogix, we know why you've been in business for
so long. Not only do you give great customer service (prompt replies,
friendly, helpful), but you have stonking-good software! Although
we no longer have need for it, it was extremely helpful when we
did.
And
thanks to all of you who selflessly share your knowledge on the
internet.
In Canny Nanny's case, especially the tip to drastically reduce
pdf size for image intensive Word documents by switching to full
screen view before 'printing' the pdf. Whoa, what a difference!
And as a past example, Canny Nanny was also told by two mechanics
that her car had a bad head gasket, but after researching online,
found it was a bad sensor that she easily unscrewed from the engine
and replaced herself.
And all of the health information - like the power of honey (for
wounds, allergies, etc). And vinegar. And bicarb (baking soda).
And zeolite. And ear wash for my beagle (who occasionally got
yeast infections in his ear) made of gentian violet, alcohol,
and boric acid. All amazing stuff!
Thank you again for sharing your knowledge and expertise, and
please join us in doing everything you can to keep this flow of
information free and accessible.
